ARTS Southeast is excited to announce the Incubator Artist Initiative, which will provide a local artist with a free studio at Sulfur Studios for one year in 2025. We're now accepting proposals for this unique opportunity, aimed at supporting Savannah-based emerging artists.

What’s Offered:

Free Studio Space: A year-long residency in a 12 x 12ft studio equipped with gallery lighting and tile flooring. Located on the first floor of ARTS Southeast right off of our shop and directly next door to the ON::View Residency Studio, this a prime spot for foot traffic during business hours and First Friday Open Studio events. The Incubator Artist will have 24/7 access to the studio, including access to sinks and wifi.
Exhibition Opportunities: Participation in 3 group exhibitions in our Supporter Gallery in 2025 and inclusion in the ON::View Revue group exhibition in our main exhibition space The Ellis Gallery in January/February, 2026.
Professional Development & Community Engagement: Opportunities for professional development, complimentary memberships to ARTS Southeast’s Supporter Program, SCAD MOA & Telfair Museums, and interactions with local artists and curators.
Mentorship: Guidance in professional practices from our experienced exhibition team and the visiting ON::View Artists in Residence.Expectations for the Incubator Artist:

Community Involvement: Participation in monthly First Friday Open Studio events and a commitment of 10 volunteer hours per month with ARTS Southeast.
Collaboration: Working as a liaison with visiting ON::View Resident artists to foster a vibrant arts community.
Studio Time: Willingness to be in the studio, putting in the time, and doing the work.
