About the ON::View Residency Program
Located in the heart of Savannah’s Starland District at ARTS Southeast, the fully-funded ON::View Artist Residency provides a free, high visibility studio space, lodging, and $500 stipend for an artist or curator to complete a new project, continue an in-progress endeavor, or to conduct research. The studio’s large windows look out onto Bull Street, the district’s main thoroughfare, allowing the resident’s work to be on view to the community at all times. Visitors and passersby on the sidewalk witness the resident's process as it unfolds in real time, seeing all the steps involved from concept to final execution. Community events like lectures, workshops, and public art projects offer creative ways to interact with the public. ARTS Southeast’s international ON::View Artist Residency is the only one of its kind in Savannah and is proud to provide financial support, studio space, and living accommodations to creatives from around the globe working in all media.
Located just blocks away, the 5th Dimension Apartment is a cozy studio with a full kitchen and bath to comfortably house the resident for the duration of their stay. The 5th Dimension Apartment has a private entrance and garden with plenty of space to create, lounge and entertain. It is our hope that by providing lodging, we will accommodate a diverse range of creatives from far and wide, as we continue to fulfill our mission to make Savannah a destination for the arts.

The ON::View Residency Program was founded in 2018 to provide local artists with free studio space, affording them the time and space to create, meet with the community, and offer artist talks, workshops, and public art projects.
In 2022, the ON::View Residency Program added The 5th Dimension Apartment, and along with local creatives, the program has since hosted residents from across the US and around the world. The 5th Dimension Apartment is located just blocks from ARTS Southeast and provides free housing for out-of-town Artists-in-Residence - a totally unique offering in Savannah.
The Apartment has a private gated entrance with plenty of space to create, lounge and entertain. By providing lodging for ON::View residents, we attract a diverse range of creatives from around the world, helping us continue to fulfill our mission to make Savannah a destination for the arts.
ARTS Southeast invites the public to welcome our residents, and engage in artistic and cultural exchange. Each resident has regular open studio hours for members of the community to drop in, see their work, and have the opportunity to learn and collaborate.
