Whistling in the Dark: Debora Oden
Closing Reception
Whistling in the Dark is a collection of works exploring the role of abstraction and play as a method of navigating the beauty and chaos of our contemporary life on earth. The creation of these pieces begins and ends through monoprint processes where Oden navigates energy, conflict, and boundaries (both real and imagined) and their influence on the movement of matter. The artist thinks of these works as moving images. Marks spill, they crash, they block, and they bounce, the action to be completed in the viewer's mind. Everything is in a state of flux; the only constant is change.
