A sentiment expressed in many contexts, “good luck” is often wished when one sets off on a journey with an unknown destination. The goal may be clear; the path to get there may prove less straightforward. In her paintings, screen prints, and wallpaper installations, Joanna Silver presents glimpses of pursuing the American dream. Colorful but vacant domestic interiors hint at feelings from aspiration to disillusionment; nostalgia to re-framed futures. By contrast, Kirby Waller’s neutral but complex ceramic forms twist and turn in space, true to the winding and unpredictable nature of life. Together, the artists avoid prescriptive interpretations of progress, presenting us instead with an organic way forward. Rather than a straightforward line, Silver and Waller explore “good luck” as something nuanced - full of fits and starts, but resilient.

Joanna Silver is an artist currently working in painting, printmaking, and installation. Having been born and raised in Miami, FL, there is a vibrant, saturated use of color that permeates her work. Joanna is interested in nostalgic moments and the items we leave behind. Her process includes taking pictures over time, then using these images to cut out shapes like puzzle pieces of color, fitting them back together to create a sense of memory. Silver is currently living and working in Savannah, GA where she obtained her MFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art & Design. She received her BFA from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC in 2010. Silver was awarded a residency at Vermont Studio Center for Spring 2026, and has shown work in group exhibitions in Atlanta, DC, Miami, Palm Springs, Providence, & Savannah. She has had two solo shows in Savannah, GA. Her work has been shown at the Lowe Art Museum in Miami, FL, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and the 2025 Atlanta Art Fair.

Kirby Waller is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and entrepreneur based in Savannah, GA, by way of Denver, CO. She arrived at clay after more than a decade working in product development, visual merchandising, and graphic design. Her experience developing objects for national retailers shaped an ongoing interest in how form, function and feeling can coexist. In 2023, Kirby founded Knack Studio—three unique studio spaces devoted to ceramics, glass, plants and creative community—while developing a personal art practice alongside the creative spaces she built for others. In this exhibition, Kirby works primarily in white stoneware, constructing forms from coils that are looped, knotted, stacked and pressed into open structures. The collection moves between freestanding sculpture, wall installations, and decorative objects, combining pared-down silhouettes with subtle variations from the hand building process. Raw clay, restrained color, repeated curves, and negative space allow each piece to feel both deliberate and slightly unresolved—part object, part gesture.
