“These pieces are reflections of the struggle to find solace within ourselves and the world in which we reside. Places that once brought comfort can now be laden with anxiety, even sadness. Nature, identified as a place that offers peace and meditation can also be a reflection of the feeling of a world on the precipice of collapse, no longer a place of refuge, but a place both we, and "God" (the symbolic identity of spirituality) have abandoned.”
