“Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, the junkyard on Ossabaw Island, Georgia was a treasure trove: abandoned cars and trucks, discarded appliances, worn bicycles, torn boats, exhausted lawn mowers and tractors, old tires, and shattered glass. The sun, high heat, humidity, salt air, wind, hurricanes and periodic coastal storms worked tirelessly to reclaim these man-made relics. The result was captivating patinas, weathered surfaces, and textures shaped by decay—a stunning transformation too fascinating not to photograph.

“During 2024, the junkyard was 'cleaned up' and is all but gone, a poignant reminder that a cycle is always in play. Everything begins, perseveres, and eventually disappears. In its absence, we are left with the quiet beauty of impermanence and the enduring marks of nature's process.”
