Sulfur Studios is pleased to present Good Morning, Your Lowness by Gabriel Robbertz in our ON::View Pop Up Gallery from November 7th through December 3rd, 2020. The exhibition can be viewed 24 hours a day through our window display.

Artist Statement:

"My most frustrating thoughts, which come from fear, have recently surfaced, taking up more space in my mind than ever before. In order to understand these I needed to accept them. Since they are born in solitude I decided to complete the cycle by accepting these thoughts in solitude. I have used light painting techniques to most accurately describe the actions and expressions that are created on the journey of accepting my darkness. They start as thoughts but as I have fully learned, all thoughts lead to action."

Artist Bio:

Gabriel Robbertz is a current photography student at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, he began making art at an early age with his two older sisters. As he grew up, his work quickly transitioned from drawing dinosaurs and other animals with tracing paper to drawing solely out of his imagination. Now, his practice serves him in times of healing and change as he works to understand anxieties, fears, motivations, and other aspects of the psyche. He uses a variety of mediums to describe the different truths of life.
