“This is the last painting I painted in 2024, on New Year’s Eve after watching my husband’s band play at a house show. It reflects not only my current creative journey, but my husband’s as well. We are striving in our lives to live more in the present and to listen to our inner inspiration and for me, that means more painting from life and capturing scenes in the moment without the limitless tools and time afforded by the studio. This painting captures the literal end of 2024 and signals my next step on my artistic path as I embrace my art for what it is and shed the desire to make it something more perfect.”
