Insides by Zoe Huddleston
As a stop motion fabricator, Zoe Huddleston is fascinated by the textural world of fiber arts. In her installation Insides, she has filled the box with anatomical, brain-like forms constructed from wool roving and crocheted yarn. The artist shows her metaphorical insides, splayed out for the viewer. Dancing along the line of grotesque gore and cute felt, the choice in materials aims to create a dichotomy between the unsettling aspects of organs outside of the body, and the intrinsically soft, approachable aspects of wool and yarn.
