Lindsey Blankenship
Lindsey Blankenship is a textile designer and painter from Athens, Georgia. With a focus in pattern and painting, her textile design work spans a range of processes including natural dye, embroidery, screen printing and digital mediums. As an individual, she feels a great pull towards the outdoors and draws creative inspiration from natural environments.
Carl Johnson
Carl Johnson is an artist originally from Washington, DC. His work is an expression of the nonstop commotion going on in his head, but holds its form logically and mathematically. With a specialty in weaving, he is continuing his journey to find innovative and efficient ways of resolving problems.
Anya Molyviatis
Anya Molyviatis sculpts visual and tactile landscapes by unifying her love for fibers and design. With color gradients, weaving structures, and materiality, she shapes space into one with depth and motion. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Anya has spent her life between urban and wild landscapes throughout Europe and North America. After graduating from Aiglon College in 2013, she moved to the United States to study sustainable architecture in California. During her studies she completed a permaculture design course, opening her eyes to the potential of natural systems as well as textile properties. Entranced to learn more about materiality, she moved to New Mexico to apprentice with a master weaver and currently completing her BFA in Fibers at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Jessi Harrington-Newton
Jessi Harrington-Newton is a textile designer from the great plains region of Nebraska. In addition to her BFA in Fibers, she is currently seeking a minor in photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her breadth ranges from tactile experience to digital pattern design. She loves playing with the possibility embellishment can have enhancing patterns as well as holding the capacity of time and memory. She primarily envisions how her work can be expressed through shaping a room and designing for interior spaces.
The SCAD Fibers Senior Show will be on display in the Gallery at Sulfur Studios from May 13th - 16th, 2021, and can be viewed during the gallery’s regular hours (Thurs - Sun, noon to 5 pm) or by appointment.
