From Nagpal’s Statement:

 “We are enveloped in a world of creation where we see through the lens of materials. Materials do not just service an idea rather they lead to many ideas. Discovering the Unknown features a series of horsehair wall panels. In all the artworks, each horse hair has undergone immense transformation by various processes like twisting, knotting and bending.” 

 Nikita Nagpal is a textile designer, born and raised in New Delhi, India. Currently based in Savannah, Georgia she explores many ideas by transforming horsehair, through the improvisational movement of the hand. She examines this phenomenon to understand the way 'form' occurs in craft. 

Discovering the Unknown is on display from March 7th – 9th 2019 and may be seen during the gallery’s normal business hours, Thursday – Saturday, noon to 5PM. Join us for the Opening Reception on Friday, March 8th from 6 – 9PM.
