An exhibition about an exploration of material manipulations to describe reality through inference and interaction. Griffin's expansive imagination is best expressed through her figurative abstractions of the human condition. A modern deconstructionist, she dismisses the control of explaining and describing, and ignites curiosity by implying and suggesting
form and figure. Her visual perspective is highly influenced by her “eagle eye,” an
undiagnosed legally blind eye, only treated in adulthood. As a result, from early on, she
unconsciously learned to understand visual imagery as an assumption of reality. The
daughter of a space architect and classical organist, she attended Savannah College
of Art and Design for Painting and Illustration. In addition to her inexhaustible
enthusiasm for visual expression, she has been a stylist for over 10 years, a display artist,
a buyer, a yacht and automotive painter, body painter, illustrator, art teacher, and yoga
instructor for 8+ years. Chaos and imperfection continue to fascinate her as she uses
turbulent surfaces to tell the stories of exploring material manipulations in her work.

The Closing Reception on Friday, June 22nd is free and open to the public, and will be
accompanied by refreshments and DJ Jose Ray.

"Exploring" is on display from June 14th through the 23rd and may be seen during the
gallery’s business hours: Thursday – Saturday, noon – 5 PM or by appointment.
