The work in this painting exhibition explores the relationship between humans and the environment. Jia Deng uses a childlike perspective to capture a feeling of playfulness, despite the inherent risk of adventure. She is interested in the dichotomy of fun and danger, and uses humor in her work.
Jia Deng (b. China) is receiving an M.F.A. in Painting at SCAD. She attended Shenyang Normal University for a B.F.A in of Printmaking, degree received in 2014. She has exhibited her work in several group exhibitions.
Adventure is on display from April 26th – 28th, and may be seen during the gallery’s normal business hours, Thursday – Saturday, noon to 5PM, or by appointment. Join us on Friday, April 27th from 6 - 9PM for the Opening Reception.
