"Rule of Four" A Group Photography Exhibition by Insley Smullen, Laura Pleasants, Geoff L Johnson and Tim Foster

Rule of Four showcases four photographers’ adjoining perspectives on the population of, and the perceived distance between, contrasting geographies and landscapes. The Reception is in conjunction with First Fridays in Starland.

About the Artists:

Laura Pleasants grew up in Greensboro, NC. In 2002 she earned BFAs from SCAD in both Photography and Graphic Design. While attending SCAD, she formed the influential indie metal band KYLESA, which resulted in her touring the world for thirteen years. Most of the photos shown here are from her extensive travels.

Insley Smullen was hatched from a speckled egg in the temperate forests of Western Maryland. While alive on Earth, she strives to explore the connections between the human and animal, growth and decay, the body and the environment. Using a medium format twin lens camera, Insley photographs in natural settings that are at once eerie and familiar, using subjects both living and dead.

Tim Foster arrived in Savannah in 1999, and received his BFA from SCAD in 2005. Since then, his work as a rope access technician has afforded him a view of Savannah that is rarely experienced. This body of work embraces his unique perspective and invites the viewer into an altered state of awareness by way of combining elements of panoramic, landscape, macro, and portrait photography.  forgefoster@instagram

Geoff Johnson has over 25 years of varied photography experience. His long-standing passion for travel and documenting personal experiences is still at the heart of his work today. In addition to his personal work, Geoff keeps busy as a professional freelance photographer and is available for projects, big and small.
