Recycled materials have been part of Harry DeLorme’s work for decades, including found objects relevant to environmental concerns. His current work speaks to the global issue of plastic pollution. DeLorme intercepts discarded plastic from the banks of the Savannah River on its way to the ocean, making paintings of the river landscape. He then color matches and covers the paintings completely with found plastic, revealing the problem of post-consumer waste hiding in plain sight.
