For our winter national juried call for entry exhibition, we invited artists to submit work that utilizes materials and/or imagery that are found, reclaimed, recycled or re-purposed. Artists were encouraged to consider the previous life of their materials and how that material can be highlighted or transformed to support the concept of the work.
We received over 150 entries from 52 artists, and our juror had the very difficult job of choosing just 42 works for “Re::Claimed.”

About the Guest Juror:
Lisa D. Watson is a Georgia based artist and garden designer whose environmental and social concerns are expressed in each project. Her artwork contains 90% reclaimed material such as paper products, metal, industrial wood, produce netting and more. She has used recycled objects as her medium for over 25 years and continually works towards a fully sustainable practice.
Lisa has exhibited work nationally including solo exhibitions in Montclair, NJ and Los Angeles, CA. Her recent solo exhibition, "Avanguardia," displayed in Telfair Museum’s The Jepson Center and The Fine Arts Gallery at Georgia Southern University, explored the disconnect inherent in how we view the natural world from the window of a car. Using salvaged materials, Lisa seeks a balance between urbanization and conservation in the work.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Columbus College of Art & Design - Ohio and an Certificate of Interior Design from LTU - Chatsworth, California. Lisa works out of her Savannah studio and lives with her husband Don along with their two rescued cats.
