“Breaking Through” is a group exhibition of contemporary jewelry. It is curated by Qiong Wu, who is an M.A candidate majoring in both Business Design & Arts Leadership and Jewelry Design at Savannah College of Art and Design.
“Breaking Through” is on display from August 3rd to 5th. The exhibition involves about 40 pieces of jewelry from 4 artists: Shuoyuan Bai, Zihan Yang, Miao He, and Xiangyin Shi. Each artist conveys their stories and understanding of issues through their one of a kind artworks. The exhibition is free to the public, and it will be an excellent chance for the audiences who love art, jewelry, and new things.
The name “Breaking Through” contains two meanings. The first meaning refers to the contemporary jewelry breaking through the boundary and limitation of traditional jewelry making techniques and materials. The second meaning implies the exhibition is breaking through the current situation of the art market in Savannah and brings the new art form to the market.
