“Cabbage Palms (Sabal palmettos) will naturally drop their old fronds (leaves) and grow new ones. However, these crownless palms on the boneyard beach of Hunting Island, photographed during a partial solar eclipse, are affected too much by saltwater inundation and will not regrow leaves.”
