Sulfur Studios is pleased to present Mermaid Fantasy, a solo exhibition of paintings by Phil Musen on display in the Gallery at Sulfur Studios from March 3rd - 26th, 2022. In conjunction with this exhibition, Sulfur Studios is thrilled to produce its second-ever limited edition Exhibition Catalogue, featuring all 54 paintings from the series.
About the Exhibition:
Mermaid Fantasy is a reimagining of the artist's experiences turned into a fantastical adventure. The story begins with shipwreck, as a group of sailors are thrust onto land inhabited by a Mermaid civilization. Phil Musen invites viewers to witness these turbulent events as they unfold and to examine for themselves the themes and power dynamics of love and heartbreak.
About the Artist:
Phil Musen (b.1985, Boston, MA) graduated in 2009 from The Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Painting. He is an artist who lives and works in Savannah, mostly selling street art in Forsyth Park. He is also a part time farmer who provides organically grown vegetables to local restaurants.

Mermaid Fantasy will be on display in the Gallery at Sulfur Studios from March 3rd - 26th, 2022 and can be viewed during the gallery’s regular open hours (Thursday - Sunday, noon - 5:00 pm) or by appointment. There will be a First Friday Opening Reception on Friday, March 4th from 5:00 - 9:00 pm in conjunction with First Fridays in Starland, and an Artist Talk (in-person and simulcast via @sulfurstudios Instagram Live) on Saturday, March 12th at 2:00 pm.
